Malaysia wins British award

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has won the Offshore Destination of the Year award from the United Kingdom National Outsourcing Association (NOA).

The award acknowledges a country’s good combination of skilled workforce as well as collaboration between governments and industries to deliver valuable propositions to global offshore markets.

The awards were announced by the NOA at a ceremony that was attended by more than 350 professionals from Britain’s outsourcing industry. The NOA is Europe’s first association for the outsourcing industry, and the NOA Awards reward innovation as well as achievements by suppliers, users and integrated teams within the outsourcing industry. Lost in Translation

With the latest Garner research predicting a 50% increase in offshore spending in 2006/2007, with the UK being the biggest contributors, perhaps it’s a good thing that their research also shows a large increase in the use of Oversea’s service providers. Gartner research predicts an increase from the current 13% to a significant 20% of all offshore transactions being handled by experienced offshore service providers, which in light of what’s happening with some of the UK National Health Service BPO contracts, it cant happen too soon.

Janspeed Example


I’m writing this, the first real blog on the Metagrobolize blogsite, on a flight back from a business trip to see some of Catenate’s UK customers.

It was from one such visit to a high performance automotive engineering and component manufacturer that it really struck a chord on how outsourcing can be highly complimentary to SME companies operating in ‘niche’ market sectors if outsourcing is embraced and ‘bought into’ by the management team. ‘Together we achieve’

This is the first of what I hope to be many posts to this new blog.

Why Blog? why us? why outsourcing as a subject matter? I’m not going to try and answer those questions right now, but hope that as this blog develops, the answers will be come apparent to all who frequently visit this blog.

I hope that through the power of shared experience we can make life a little easier for people and companies that are thinking about outsourcing in any of its many different guises.
