I’m writing this, the first real blog on the Metagrobolize blogsite, on a flight back from a business trip to see some of Catenate’s UK customers.
It was from one such visit to a high performance automotive engineering and component manufacturer that it really struck a chord on how outsourcing can be highly complimentary to SME companies operating in ‘niche’ market sectors if outsourcing is embraced and ‘bought into’ by the management team.
It was fantastic to be a part of team developing the strategies that would capitalise on the strengths of both companies which would enable the UK company to expand the more specialist services that it provides to its clients as well as increase efficiencies in its manufacturing process that would be required to cope with the anticipated increase in business..
No talk of job losses, but talk of freeing up vital time of their more highly skilled engineers for more high leverage and productive tasks. No thoughts of moving entire production cells to our lower cost manufacturing environment, but of teamwork between our companies in strategically supporting the UK production facility.
Net result: a company that is not only more competitive, but is able to offer its existing and potential clients a service that is more focused on its core competencies and more efficient and flexible in its manufacturing capabilities…..Next please.
