Malaysia wins British award

The award acknowledges a country’s good combination of skilled workforce as well as collaboration between governments and industries to deliver valuable propositions to global offshore markets.
The awards were announced by the NOA at a ceremony that was attended by more than 350 professionals from Britain’s outsourcing industry. The NOA is Europe’s first association for the outsourcing industry, and the NOA Awards reward innovation as well as achievements by suppliers, users and integrated teams within the outsourcing industry.
Malaysia was nominated by consulting and information technology services company Atos Origin.
Atos Origin Malaysia managing director Siow Wee Loong said in a statement yesterday the company, which had been operating in Malaysia for more than 18 years, appreciated the infrastructure, pro-business policies, incentives and support provided by the Malaysian government.
NOA chairman Martyn Hart added that Malaysia’s well-developed infrastructure, attractive business environment and strong government support made it a rising alternative to China and India as an outsourcing hub.
“Malaysia won because of the dedication of the government and industry to creating and promoting the ideal climate for offshore outsourcing,” Hart said.
