BESTSOURCING

Outsourcing has taken a beating in the press recently with the hype surrounding the perception of mass job losses in the US and other developed countries to cheap labour costs in low cost countries. They also cite the fact that as these ‘mercenary’ companies strive to save costs, many outsourcing deals actually collapse due to the failure in realizing the expected levels of savings and/or mistrust of their service providers/vendors, implying that saving money is not a sound reason for outsourcing. They would have us further believe that Outsourcing is in decline due to these questionable cost savings and multiple complexities of working with service providers/vendors half a world away geographically and culturally.
Such predictions and assertions seem to fly in the face of an equally prominent group of influencers and media commentators continually heralding lucrative outsourcing deals, impressive benefits and uncapped growth projections. Offshore service providers are delivering30-40% year-over-year revenue growth every quarter. Meanwhile their Western based competitors hurriedly expand their operations in emerging economies. Beyond rapid growth and geographic expansion, some service providers are helping outsourcing customers compete in new ways.
